Flying Restrictions
While there are no restrictions on Warwick Sport members joining UWGC there are several practical restrictions that will prevent you from flying. If you have any questions about the following criteria please contact the exec before signing up for a trip.
Weight - Those over 240 lb (108 kg) will be unable to fly, those over 220 lb (99 kg) may have restrictions on which gliders and with which instructors you will be able to fly with.
Height - Those over 6 ft 6 in (2 m) may have difficulty fitting inside the gliders. Those under 4ft (1.2m) may be too small to be full restrained by the safety harness and so would be unable to fly.
Medical Condition - If you have a medical condition such as epilepsy you must inform UWGC before you come on a trip and inform the instructor, it does not necessarily prevent you from flying but it may prevent you from flying solo.
Physical Disability - Gliding requires the pilot to use and coordinate all four limbs simultaneously, if you are unable to do this you will not be able to pilot the aircraft. This does not necessarily prevent you from coming for a ride in a glider.
Behaviour - It is at the discretion of the trip leader and/or instructor to remove any member from flying if their actions are consider to endanger themselves or others on the ground or in the air.
Debt - If you have failed to pay for a pervious trip, you may be barred from subsequent trips until you debts have been settled.
